ReplyDeleteThe Tomoe family owns a huge chunk of Tokyo and more land in other places. Hotaru is the wealthiest senshi in the series, and likely one of the richest people on her Earth. The idea any of the senshi need to sell their bodies to make ends meet just doesn't make sense.
Depending on continuity Setsuna is either a time traveler from the future sent to ensure Crystal Tokyo, or reborn to a seemingly wealthy family in her past after dyeing in Crystal Tokyo. Heck we even see Setsuna has a job as a school nurse at Hotaru's new school at one point.
This would make more sense with a healthy dose of mind control. Mind Control is a common power among the senshi's enemies, and something they seemingly have little if any defense against.
Tomoe family was rich, right, but remeber that Hotaru was living with Setsuna, Haruka and Michiru. And her father lost everything after the Pharao 90 attacked the earth.

The insurgence pay outs for the school would be huge I would think, and the Tomoe family owned far more then the tiny area that was trashed by Pharaoh 90. Even if the Tomoes had to sell all their land they would still be insanely rich.
In the anime the large house Hotaru and her father were living when Pluto mind raped them had no neighbors in sight. There is no reason Pluto couldn't just mind control Professor Tomoe into giving her money.
In the manga Hotaru's father who was honestly insane dies, and then the senhshi mind rape a large number of people so no one finds any thing odd about a kid appearing out of nowhere just like they did with Chibi-Usa.

Haruka and Michiru have a rather large income from somewhere, and it likely isn't a job like Haruka's racing because they are full time high school students, and just because they are on the other side of the world is no reason Sailor Pluto could not get money from them, and there is no reason they would withhold the funds.

Why haven't the outers just mind raped or killed the guy blackmailing them? The senshi have no qualms about mind control so long as it benefits them, and getting rid of a body would be simple for the senshi. Hell, Usagi wants to kill one of Minako's friends because the friend was dating a guy Minako liked.
